Kevin Mcgoldrick
Kevin McGoldrick is an experienced law enforcement, military and corporate leader. He has served as a Boston Police Superintendent and continues to serve as a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, where he is assigned as the Officer in Charge of the U.S. Army Reserve Element-European Command. His experience includes various command assignments in the Boston Police and the U.S. Army, including Joint, Interagency, and NATO assignments.
During his career with the Boston Police Department, he served in a number of patrol, investigative, tactical and leadership roles, including leading the Tactical Operations Group and the Special Operations Support Group. As a Deputy Superintendent and then Superintendent of the Bureau of Field Services, the largest division in the Boston Police Department, he was directly involved in the planning, coordinating, and operations for all major events in Boston. He successfully managed many large and complex events, from sports championships to protests, while leading the day to day operations of the department. He also developed and implemented policies in a rapidly changing environment.
In the corporate environment, Kevin has served as the Chief Administrative Officer for a 450-employee company in the healthcare industry. He leveraged his organizational leadership experience to enhance the human resources, operations, and compliance functions, resulting in significant operational improvements and a reduction in operating expenses by over 30%, saving more than three million dollars annually.
Kevin holds a Juris Doctorate from New England Law in Boston and is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar. He has also received a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Norwich University.
In addition to his degrees, he has completed the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative program at Harvard University, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Civil Affairs Qualification Course at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and a wide variety of tactical, technical, management, and leadership courses.
Scott Mackie
Scott Mackie is a partner at Strong Harbor Consulting, which provides security advisory, risk mitigation, investigation, and computer forensic services. He is a retired Boston Police Sergeant with three decades of service. Throughout his career, he has worked primarily in an investigative capacity, including a variety of investigative assignments in intelligence, dignitary protection, and computer forensics.
Scott received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Curry College. In addition to his degree, he is a certified forensic computer examiner (CFCE) by the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists. He received his training at the National Computer Forensic Institute located in Hoover, Alabama, while assigned as a Task Force Officer/Special Deputy U.S. Marshall with the United States Secret Service, New England Electronic Crimes Task Force.
Scott is certified in IACIS Basic Computer Forensics Examiner (BCFE), Mobile Phone Forensics (CCLO), (CCPA), MAC Forensics, Certified JTAG examiner, and Certified IVE/Blackbag Mobile Vehicle Forensics examiner. He has received training while working in conjunction with the United States Coast Guard DOMEX lab, which supports mobile forensics found in the maritime environment.
Leo Coppens
Leo Coppens is a partner at Strong Harbor Consulting, which provides security advisory, risk mitigation, investigation, and computer forensic services.
Leo retired from the Quincy Police Department (QPD) with 35 years of law enforcement and investigation experience. He served as a Detective in the Bureau of Investigations and as a member of the Special Operations Motorcycle and Community Police Units. He also worked as the Licensing Board Agent for the Quincy Police Department, working closely with businesses and the city government to promote a safe and compliant business community.
After retiring from the Quincy Police Department, Leo became the Vice President of Operations for Ark Behavioral Health. He managed the security and safety requirements of five treatment centers in two states and successfully coordinated the company's accreditation reviews.
Leo holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
Greg
Greg Long joined Strong Harbor Consulting after serving in the Boston Police Department for 28 years. During his time in the Boston Police Department, Greg gained invaluable leadership and professional experience while planning, managing, and responding to critical incidents, large scale events, and investigations.
Greg retired from the Boston Police Department as Superintendent in Chief, the Department’s highest ranking sworn Officer. While Superintendent in Chief, Greg also held the position of Acting Police Commissioner for 18 months. In these roles, Greg led a police department of over 2800 employees and a 400 million dollar budget. He worked directly with the Mayor and Mayor’s Cabinet on administration, policies, crime reduction strategies, personnel, and union related issues. Greg also effectively collaborated across the full spectrum of federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency management agencies as well as community stakeholders.
As Superintendent in Chief, Greg was responsible for the development and review of Department policies, rules, and procedures. While Chief, Greg helped lead the Boston Police Department through the Covid Pandemic and police reform. Under Greg’s leadership, the city of Boston avoided the post-pandemic crime spikes experienced in most cities. The Boston Police Department continued to utilize an intelligence and data driven approach to policing resulting in significant and sustained crime reduction.
Greg has held numerous leadership positions within the Boston Police Department including Superintendent of the Bureau of Investigative Services and Commander of the Homicide Unit.
Greg earned a Juris Doctorate from New England Law School in Boston and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. Greg also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University. Greg participated in numerous leadership, management, and investigative trainings while a member of the Boston Police Department to include the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Policing.
